Amy Smart was an American model and actress. Amy Smart was born and raised in California, USA. Amy Smart started the modeling profession in Italy. Her acting career started in 1996 when she starred in the TV film Her Costly Affair. Her fight to secure the role in Starship Troopers, a film which featured only minor characters, was extremely intense. It was difficult for her to make the transition from modelling to acting as the models were never thought of as actors and tended to be given smaller and inconsequential parts. Yet, somehow Amy refused to give up and stepped into bigger roles eventually starting with the series The 70s and the film Varsity Blues. Then she stepped into lead roles in the 2005 romantic comedy Just Friends which also starred Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained the recognition she'd been seeking for over 10 years, when her movie called Just Friends came out. The actress continued to appear in major films, such as Crank with Jason Statham or Shameless in which she was loved as a regular role.
