April Ross
April Ross is only one of the beach volleyball athletes to win medals at least twice in an Olympics. Alix klineman, who is taking part for the very first time at the Tokyo Olympics is hoping to secure her third gold medal. Ross is determined to earn more than her initial Olympic medal. With her age of 39, this may be her last chance to win the gold medal at an Olympics. Nevertheless, she remains convinced of winning top awards. Ross declared on NBC Boston: "If we perform our best and If we play our best, I think we could be able to win gold." Additionally, I'm going put my faith in a touch of good luck. Ross was born in California in Costa Mesa, California in 1982. She grew up in Costa Mesa with her father, mother and younger sister. She went on to compete in many activities during her time at Newport Harbor High School. Apart from the indoor game, she also played basketball and jogged track as a pre-collegiate athlete. When she played in the final sport she stood out. When she played in her high school volleyball career, according to her college bio, she was an outside-hitter, middle-blocker and setter. The award was presented to her as one of the Gatorade National Circle of Champions player of the year in 1999, for her performance. Also, she won the 1999 Orange County Athlete of the Year trophy for volleyball. Even though Ross Klineman and Ross have been doing their thing since 2017, the former was already an established player on the beach scene even before the pair formed. It's true that she has had the chance to win numerous events, and one was won by an iconic volleyball player. Jennifer Kessy was her partner during six years between 2007 and the year 2013. She also coached Klineman and herself. Kessy's teammate Ross, who took home the title of world champion alongside Kessy in 2009, was also significant on the world stage. They won a Silver Medal at the 2012 Olympic Games held in London. The legendary Misty Maytreanor team as well as Kerri Jennings took home the gold. As fate would have it Ross was Walsh Jennings' new partner after May-Treanor's retirement. They went on to earn the beach volleyball bronze during the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross was a college player at USC Trojans prior to beginning the start of her professional career. She played during high school, and even before hitting the beach professionally. Ross had an impressive run in the NCAA tournament. Her freshman year in 2000 earned her the Pac-10 as well as NCAA Freshman's of award and become an All-American. She was also one of the key players for helping the Trojans reach their way to the Final Four. She endured a great personal defeat in her sophomore year but was still able to achieve the All-American distinction. During her final two seasons as a member of the Trojans team the team was led to victory by winning the national title in consecutive years. In 2003-2004, Ross was named as the most successful female volleyball player at a collegiate level in the US according to The Honda Sports Award. Ross was a student at USC in International Relations. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch Ross' daughter blossom into the beach volleyball's biggest star. Ross lost her mom to cancer of the breast in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. In the aftermath, Ross continues to be close to her parent who died. Margie is a constant source of inspiration for her on and off the beach.
