Dolly-Parton

Born on Jan. 19 1946 in Locust Ridge Tenn into a poverty-stricken family which would later comprise 12 kids Dolly Parton learned early to overcome the challenges of her living through her vibrant and expansive imagination. Before learning how to read and write, Dolly Parton was creating her own music. The guitar that she first received was presented by her mother when she was eighteen. She began singing in a Knoxville Tenn station by the age of eleven. That same year she made her first record on Gold Band Records a tiny independent label. Even though she was still at school, she already established herself in the local music scene. But her dream was to be able to perform at a much greater level. In the exact day that she graduated from the high school in 1964. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time was searching for a girl to sing on his show. Parton was signed to RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. In 1974, she resigned from Wagoner's Show because the success of her solo songs like Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was outstripping their joint releases. Parton was a part of the group that split after the end of their partnership with Wagoner, wrote"I Will Never Love You and had it reach No. The first time it reached the top spot was in 1974.
