Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born 15 September 1915, in Ogden Utah. Fawn McKay, brought up in the Mormon First Family of the Church used her literary talent and expertise in research to write the fascinating psycho-historical biographical biography of Joseph Smith. Published in 1945 under the title of No Man has My History, she used both. The title was inspired by the funeral sermon of Joseph Smith who was the leader of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. The preacher shocked the audience when he said declaring: "You don't even know my name. I haven't even met the inside of my mind." My past is not known to anyone. Nobody knows my story. Fawn 29, a woman of 29 years old, wrote: "Since that moment of candor, at least three authors have taken up the task." A lot of them have denigrated him and some even deified him. While a handful have attempted in the field of medical diagnosis. It's not that documents are lacking but rather they're wildly contradictory. This task is to delineate the primary source from third-hand plagiarization and to fit Mormons' stories with those of non-Mormons into an authentic historical mosaic. This is an exciting as well as educational journey. Such was the task to which Fawn Brodie devoted herself professionally. Her research and writings brought her international fame: Thaddeus Stephens. The Devil drives (1959). Thomas Jefferson. A Personal History (1974) and posthumously Richard Nixon.
